I'm home today, sinc emy car wouldn't start. I had to have it towed to the shop. It's probably the connections on the starter. Figures, after all that trouble with the battery yesterday.

I tried getting the scooter running so I could get to work, but to no avail. I changed the gas and cleaned the spark plug. Carburator adjustments are beyond me.

I could walk to work (it's less than half an hour walk), but since it is nice out I decided to take the whole day off work and get some stuff done around here. Maybe I'll finish painting the garage. :-/

Car: I called the shop at 2:00 and the guy said, "well, we just put it on the battery charger, so we'll wait a while and see what happens."

I should have reminded him that Ihad it on the charger all night. Oh well, maybe he can tell me if the battery is capable of holding a charge. It must be, though, because if that were the problem, he would have called me back today. He never did.

Scooter: I changed the gas, cleaned the spark plug, and it ran better, but it still quit after half a minute, every time. Bill stopped over in the evening and determined that the air filter was all gunked up. I even looked at it and didn't see the gunk. You could scrape the gunk off the foam with your fingernail. It wasn't just the filter, though. It was the gas and the plug too. I can ride it to work tomorrow.

Bike: My last bicycle gave me a lot of grief, several years ago (I almost threw it into the lake), and I haven't gotten around to getting a new one.

Shoes: I could do that if I had to.
