abstract art
May. 9th, 2021 09:02 pmThe tulips are blooming, so I had my macros lens out yesterday, while it was sunny. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but to do these, I put flower petals between two sheets of glass, and then put the lens up against the glass.

When I saw this one, I reminded me of a very vague landscape. Like the hills in the distance, and in the middle ground is the shoreline, waves glimmering in the moonlight. OK, I know that's a stretch, but they don't usually invoke any imagery. I don't usually title them with anything meaningful, but I thought I might call it "Lost Horizon."
And then I saw this one...

It had a similar feeling, but that orange streak in the upper left was more definite, like a meteor flashing across the sky. I called it "Shooting Star."

And finally, this one, the dark shadow on the bottom was like the silhouette of a hill at night, and the curve of the pattern was like the paths of the stars. "Star Trails."
I'm not sure than anyone else enjoys them as much as I do, but I thought it was interesting that I found three images that evoked the sky and landscapes.
