I just got a bag of peanut M&M's from the vending machine. One of them had an extra-thick candy coating. One had an extra-thick layer of chocolate. One may not have had a peanut inside.
There's an old guy who wanders up and down the East Side of Milwaukee, carrying a cooler and calling, "Pepperoni Cannoli!!" I thought he was some crazy guy until I found out that everyone seems to know him.

Also known as Frank Pecoraro, this Brady Street legend can always be spotted in and around the neighborhood pubs hawking - what else?- pepperoni and cannoli. For years, he's fed hungry beer drinkers on Brady. You're probably too full from Giovanni's, but maybe next time. The Pepperoni Cannoli Guy will be around Brady Street, somewhere. I don't think there's anything about the aging process that would remove peanuts or increase the thickness of the candy coating. I think those are manufacturing defects.
Definitely manufacturing defects. I mentioned the (lack of date) for the reference of someone else on my friends list, who, last week, bought a bag from a vending machine, and the date on the bag was 1994.
There was a lawsuit brought by a guy who bought a bag of peanut M&Ms and, as he says, he chomped down onto an M&M and there was no peanut. He chipped a tooth. He complained of jaw pain and etc ect ect. The suit was thrown out.
