meeting friends

I met one of Cindy's friends today. She was in the hospital because she had a stroke. (She is 44). I've been seeing Cindy for almost three months and it was the first time I met any of her friends. But then I guess half of her friends are ex-boyfriends. ;-)

So how's her hospitalized friend doing? Does she have kids? Too scary - I'm 44, you know.

I was surprised to see how really bad her arm was. I had been talking with her on the phone since the stroke, and knew she had partial paralysis because she was slurring her words. She said she could move her arm and leg pretty well but had to concentrate to move her fingers. What I saw today in the hospital was much worse. Very scary and sad. She couldn't move her arm at all on her own. It took a lot of concentration and time to finally move her fingers a little.
