Security firm notices a drop in water pressure to the sprinkler system. Calls plant. Plant says, "I don't know." Security firm sends police and fire departments.

A servo failed and a vent was left open. The cold air poured in over the weekend freezing a sprinkler head and it broke, spewing water into two cubicles. Two computers trashed, and who knows what paperwork will be salvagable.

(Not mine.)

There was water everywhere. They had to bring in a carpet cleaning firm to suck the water from the carpet. It smells funny in here today, but not too bad.

What is a "servo"?
servo
adj : of or involving servomechanisms [syn: servomechanical] n : converts a small mechanical motion into one requiring much greater power; may include a negative feedback system [syn: servomechanism, servosystem]
Oh. oh. Is now the time I confess I can't understand that? Was the servo supposed to shut something off, or keep it turned off, and when it failed it opened up? Obviously, I REALLY NEED TO KNOW!:^)
Only Freekee knows--and he's not talking. Oh, well. One more gap in my bank of knowledge.
The servo is the motor that opens or closes the vent. When it failed, the vent was in the open position. Which was worse than if it had failed when it was closed.
