When I got into work on Monday, there was a bright yellow piece of paper on my desk, with the words, "I love you mom." Since I'm nobody's mother, I figured it wasn't for me. Kim sometimes brings her six year old daughter here for a while on friday afternoons, and she sometimes plays with the typewriter. So I figured she was poking around my desk, and she just left it lay. I left it on Kim's desk.
I asked her about it today, and she said that Hannah left them on several desks. Kim thinks that she intended for people to give them to their mothers. I decided that since it is my mother's birthday today, I would do just that.

And the rediscovery of things that once seemed so familiar, like having to plan ahead because there's almost no chance of editing pen and ink. I was never a letter writer, but I could fill pages and pages in a three hour exam. I'd find that harder now.
