This morning some radio announcers were bitching about Clinton again. They mentioned and incident at the concert over the weekend, where someone cornered him backstage, and asked how he would be handling the current situation differently than Bush. Clinton told the person that we should be unified and supportive of the president.

The DJ who told the story said he was impressed by the class that Clinton showed in his response, the other announcer said that there was no doubt in his mind that Clinton said that ony so people would think he was a great guy. Then the first announcer decided that was probably closer to the truth.

Look people,
1. Almost any politician would have said the same thing.
2. Bill Clinton has done that job, and knows how difficult it is, and isn't going to second guess anyone, especially when he knows damn well he doesn't have all the information about what is going on.
3. From what it sounded like, he said it in anger. As in "leave me the hell alone!" He's got to be sick of that.

Why do they continue to bash him?? He's not President anymore...sheesh. Of course he said what he said. Anyone with any class and intelligence would say what he said.

Yeah...what Cyn said...What's Bill supposed to say?

"I would do everything different, and you all are idiotic and I'm the agent of everything horrible in your lives!!!!!! Bwahahaaaaa!!!!"

Maybe THAT would have made them happy.
It sure seems to be what they're going for...sheesh.

Yep, I agree with you.

He may be in a lose-lose position right now. Really, what else could he say though??!!!

Actually I saw a clip of him saying that when he visited 'ground zero' before Bush was able to visit. Anyhow, he said it with typical Clinton 'way', half smiling and steady. It wasn't said in anger then, but who knows how many tmes he has been asked the same thing since. The reporters love him. He "gave them" some fantastic stories in their days....

I think its a smart answer, and hopefully any smart politician would say the same thing. Clinton has been accused a million times of loving the limelight and hogging it after he left the whitehouse. So that is nothing new.

He loves hogging the limelight? Sure, but the reporters chase him!

Yup, I agree with you. They sure do.

And then they turn around and ask our military the exact battleplan that will be used tomorrow, how many troops will be involved using what equipment and exactly where.

Its often said that the media is suppose to be a 'watchdog' for the public.

But if my 'watchdog' tried to chew out the throat of my mailman or child (or another 'stupid' thing,) the humane society would have come by and shot him by now. And I would have been served legal papers and sued for my own stupidity of allowing him to do that, no doubt.

Sigh.
