I broke the DVD player

I decided it was late, and stopped the movie. I went to hit the eject button on the machine, and got a big shock. You know, the visible kind? The machine went dark and unresponsive. I unplugged it, so we'll see if it resets itself overnight.

If it stays broken... so much for Cyn's day off watching movies.

Snow. Snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Total snow accumulation 4 to 7 inches. Lows around 20. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph becoming north.

But I never got those snow tires. Good thing I have a short commute.

Bush vows to put man on moon before it disappears at end of month

WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 14) To revive U.S. interest in manned space exploration, President Bush called on NASA Wednesday to put an astronaut on the moon before it vanishes at the month's end. "The moon has already shrunk to nearly a quarter of its size," Bush said in his speech at NASA headquarters. "That means we have less than a week to move. But I do believe America has the strength, determination, and old-fashioned know-how to get a man atop the moon before it disappears altogether." The president went on to propose the construction of a lunar capsule that could land on a concave surface.

more illness

Cyn is pretty sick. She's got strep throat, among other things. She's been under the weather since thursday.
It's been since tuesday for me. I don't have anything serious, as far as I can tell, but it's been a week, so I should probably see a doctor anyway. This is dragging on too long. I've got work to do.
