Yesterday, Cyn and I went to a friend's house, who was having a cookout. It was a nice time. We saw a few people who we seldom see anymore, and the weather was just fabulous.
We heard a few really odd stories.
Tammy's oldest boy has a phobia of buttons. He won't go near you if you're wearing buttons. He told his parents that he would not be continuing from Tiger Cubs into Cub Scouts because the uniforms have buttons on them. She thinks it is because he once got his skin snagged on a fancy button cover she was wearing.
A guy named Jim told us about someone he know who were losing things over the years. Things that were worth lots of money. Once they put together a list of everything they had lost, and made a thorough search of the house, they realized the things had been stolen. Someone was breaking into their home. It wasn't right away that they realized it was their next door neighbor who they had given a key, so he could feed their cats when they were gone. Then they started noticing other strange things. Like how the guy often carries weed killer around with him, and there were big dead patches that would appear overnight int heir gardens. Or how suddenly their basement was overrun with mice, and he'd brag about the animals he traps.
Jim also told us how he had invested everything he could in Worldcom stock for the last two years.
