When I first read the song it seemed like a picture of isolation because it says "i needed nobody." After I thought about it a bit more any relationships that we have with others that come from a place of need are probably a bit on the codependent side anyway :)

I like the image of being free while at the same time seeing no future. It seems like she's describing a state where one is completely at peace in the present while not being concerned with what tomorrow may bring.

I like it when she says:

that I could go
but I was free

It kind of reminds me about how I sometimes define myself in terms of where I'm going or what I'm doing rather than just who I am. I think that way of thinking sometimes really keeps me from having any real peace of mind.
