This was in Perry Lakes park, in Perry County, Alabama. This is the parking lot, of course. There are three buildings, and a canopy that looks like a bus stop.

Does this give you a hint?...

The first one is in the open.

It is, in fact, an outhouse. This is the view from the seat:

The second one is a tower, with an open roof.

It was locked, so I don't have a picture of the inside, but it is also an outhouse.

I don't have a picture of the outside of the third one, but it's at the end of the walk next to the car, in the top picture. The inside of it is shown in the second picture.

So zaecus, mummm and ravengirl get five points each, for guessing outhouse number one correctly. Nobody guessed that outhouse number two was an outhouse.

I bet no. 2 is a combination outhouse and observation tower! *L*

5 points useable for? *L*

The observation tower is in my next post. :-) And to use it as an observation tower, you'd have to climb it. Probably, the occupant of the outhouse would not appreciate your observing them, once you got to the top.

But it's so TALL.

The top one is one of the most elaborate outhouses I've ever encountered.* I like the fact that it has a bar for handicapped accessibility, but it just completely drops off at the end. So if you're in a wheelchair, and you get there, and you go out of a little bit of control, you'll just fly off the end.

I do have to say that mda's outhouse (at a cabin he lived in for years) still has one of the best views I've seen - you could leave the door open and look to the side of a hill.

*Believe it or not, I've encountered a really elaborate outhouse - it was built by a woodworker, had a really great view, and wonderful little details.

Those are very fancy outhouses. It's a little weird though that the first one is wide open and just drops off like that. Modern art outhouse?
:D
