I've been going downhill for the last week or so, but the charge finally ran out completely. I feel really brain-dead. No memory or concentration. Exhausted, and I didn't do anything. Cyn wanted help on the next step of her mandolin, and I don't feel up to it. I don't want to risk it. None of the items on my to-do list are ones I really want to try right now either.

Except the leaves. I had planned on raking leaves tonight. On saturday afternoon, the forecast said there would be a slight chance of light rain around 1 AM this morning. We had fog and drizzle all day, and now it's raining. I took the day off work last tuesday. The only day last week without wind was friday, and I had totally forgotten I needed to watch for a time to burn them. And it rained before I thought to put a tarp over them. Now we've got rain through friday. I sure hope I'm not stuck with them like I was last year. I really want a garden next year.

your past week sounds like my past week.

i am a bit at wits end.

but on the good news front:

my daughter got her doctorate of physical therapy on saturday.

and i am making turkey for susan and her mom and dad.

and i have a wedding to shoot on friday.

but i still feel so totally unmotivated.

stress, i am sure.

hugs handsome man with the short hair :)

I'm glad to hear the good news!

Thanks Bruce. :-)

There's probably another alternative besides not having a garden because you couldn't burn the leaves. Can we haul them across the road to the stick dumping area? It'll take several trips, lots of effort, but I'm willing.

I'd rather not, since Dorothy's tree doesn't seem to have black spot. I'd rather not get those leaves any closer to it. I've got a tarp over them, so they might be okay until friday. Or maybe I can get my hands on a rototiller, and dig them into the soil.

why don't you take a vacation from work and for a change, not do anything but, get some rest and relaxation?

You'd be surprised at how little I get done on my days off.

the last time I remember you going through one of these phases was when you were almost done your house prior to selling it. I think it was likely from feeling overwhelmed, and fatigued.

Get some rest. It's your body telling you something.

Yeah, but this is partly depression, I think, which would be brought on, in part, by not doing anything. I've had a to-do list of about ten things all summer. I crossed off half of them this fall. Not too good, for weekend projects.

Vicious circle, I know.

well then, you better get your little butt to the doctor.

This November-y weather is culprit, I believe. We've all been lethargic here. Just want to do.nothing. Except maybe get another cup of tea.

My plan is to get a good night's sleep and try again in the morning.

Sorry to hear that didn't quite work out for you!

Well, on the bright and sunshiny side....it's perfect weather for having a sinus infection and sleeping as much of the day away as I can.

I'm waiting for the Pharmacy to get the call from the doc for my meds, since their lunch breaks got in the way. So I had a bowl of some chicken soup while I waited and am now ready for another nap.

i thought going downhill was supposed to be easier...

It is. That's the only way I seem to be able to go, these days.

I know the feeling. Lots of garden chores are staring me in the face and I can't seem to move in the right direction. It hasn't rained for a month and a half and it started last night so no work this week, either.

Lackofmotivationitis seems to be making the rounds.

That's exactly the thing that upsets me the most. Having a task, and not doing it until it's too late. That's what happened with the leaves. Not only was I not trying to find time to take care of them, but I never put a tarp over them to keep them dry for burning, even though I thought of it. Man, that pisses me off.

Sorry to hear about your chimney leaking. That would have put me right over the edge.

The weather has to contribute to it. We haven't seen sun for days and they threaten either rain or snow today..oh joy!

Rake the leaves in the spring and get your garden going then. Right now your body is telling you to rest, relax, and try to enjoy the holidays!

Date: 2007-11-20 06:56 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] low-delta.livejournal.com
Unfortunately, there's not much rest and relaxation at the holidays.

You are right but you will have to find time to do it anyways. Not every day or night must include holiday preparation.

I'm so sorry you are feeling so cruddy. I think the change of weather is always hard. Also, when I feel sick I always worry more about the things I should have done but haven't. Be good to yourself!
