A tornado hit the city of Hartford, about twenty miles from here. There lot of damage. Didn't hear of any injuries, though. The weather was fine, here. Didn't even look threatening. Just a little rainy. But we did hear some thunder, I guess.

Houston got six inches of rain, in just over an hour. I didn't know that was physically possible.

6 inches in one hour sounds more like a bath than a shower, that's for sure.

I didn't have any idea there had been a storm in that area till I turned on the news. The quiet, steady rain had stopped here, and the sun was shining.

I can't imagine it. I was in a thunderstorm where we got 3 inches in an hour and it was buckets and buckets full. Like the first 10 minutes of a really big thunderstorm, but it kept going and going. And to think that was half as much as what they got in Houston? I really can't see it.

that must be so very scary...tornadoes seem to be so much more common nowadays.

i didn't hear about this until later that night when i got home from work. as for the chicago area, we've had promises of thunderstorms for days on end, but the angels just keep spitting on us periodically instead. we should be grateful, i guess.
