There was a bad accident on the freeway right near here, last night. They had the southbound traffic diverted off the freeway, so my drive home was stop and go all the way. I'd heard they'd called for Flight For Life, but then waved it off, so I figured it wasn't that bad. It turns out that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was driven to the hospital, which was only three miles away, but she died soon after.

They were coworkers. Apparently someone had a heart attack and crossed the median.

They were the nicest people. They had four kids.

Oh my god. I'm so very sorry. So sorry. What a tragedy.

:( when my cousin was killed recently in a car wreck,
it was wrenching to know that they couldn't get her out of the car,
that she was alive while they were trying, that the sun set
as she died.
*love*

I saw that on the news last night. When they said Grafton I naturally paid close attention to whether it could, in any way, be your family. I never thought of people you work with. From my own experience, I know that can be quite a jolt.

My commiserations, such a random, terrible way to die.
