I was getting two bolts, two nuts and two washers. I made sure to memorize the prices. 4 cents, 7, 7, 8, 9 and 13 cents. I hand the checker the hardware, and she reads the top of the bolt and enters three letters,and the price comes up. Thirteen cents. Fine. The next code doesn't work. She calls another kid over, and he doesn't know. They get out a book, and it's not in the book. Someone else tries to help, and goes off to get her book. No dice. After several minutes, they give me the set for thirteen cents.

I can't really complain about getting free hardware... okay, I'd rather have paid them the full amount, rather than standing there for five minutes... but WTF?
