I need Photoshop. Does anyone recommend anyplace to get the software?

I take it you don't want Best Buy!

I bought my computer, and stuff that went with it, from
Computer Gallery
4606 N. Wilson Dr.
Shorewood

It's owned by a computer savvy "friend of a friend"

Best Buy doesn't actually have it. Otherwise I think I would have bought it when I got this computer.

He might. He used to. I want a newer version, though. I also want the full creative suite (Illustrator, etc.), but I can't have everything.

Bset buy only has the "Upgrade version."

I hope you have a safe trip!

I used to get Photoshop spam, but it stopped. I wonder if I've got good spam filters.

Ha ha, Photoshop 6, and the upgrade package. Those guys are sneaky. Pretty soon Adobe is going to catch on that, and raise the price of their upgrade package.

I think I've got a source for Photoshop, but thanks!

And regarding the print, I'll get a check in the mail tomorrow.

I would recommend Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com). It's cheaper and does a lot of the same things as Photoshop. If your in publishing, I guess Photoshop would be necessary, but still expensive (>$500 I think)

The latest version is $650. That's why I was looking for an alternate source. But I think I've got a source for way less than that. Way, way less.

I've heard Paint Shop Pro is good.

PaintShopPro is excellent, although you wouldn't know it from my pics. You've got to have something to start with, you know?

But if you must have photoshop, I'd recommend getting Mike (or some student) to "buy" it for you. There are deals available for students to buy it on the cheap. I've seen them, although I don't have anything on it at the moment. When I was looking, it was around $299 for the full package.

actually, just googling photoshop+education returned these results in the google ads column:

http://www.studica.com/Adobe/

Those are good prices. A quarter to a third of what the programs list for. Someone offered to help me out for even cheaper than that, but it was only Photoshop. If I decide I need Illustrator or Golive, I'll probably do that. Except that I've heard a lot of bad things about the CS2 version. Hopefully, someone I know will still be in school when the next version comes out.

Thanks!
