I'm so not ready for it.

Remind me not to take a vacation during leaf raking season. We raked up part of the yard before we left, and when we got back, that pile was wet through. Three weeks later, I raked most of the rest of the yard, and now I've got a pile of leaves the size of my shed, with an inch of snow on top. And it's not supposed to get above 20° for the rest of the week. I've got some brush to burn too. Maybe if that fire gets hot enough, the leaves will dry and burn. It's gonna be tricky, though.

you can't burn wet leaves

alexandria virginia, rich fall colors, a dry, cold day.

I'm sorry a dead cat had to intrude on your vision.

Ray cheats when the leaves are wet. Two words: motor oil. I know. It's evil, but we live in the middle of nowhere.

Lol... my friend Jimbo also cheats out here for the big brush piles, especially if wet. He also uses two cheat-words... "gasoline" and "RUN!". :-)

Do you have to burn them? What if you just let them rot down in a quiet corner?

I could if I had a quiet corner. Actually, I don't really want to do that either, since one of the trees has black spot (fungus), which can spread if the leaves lie around. But I might have to leave them lie, if I cant' burn them. And it's looking less and less likely that I can.
