Sometimes, people complain when you don't call them after you've arrived where you're flying to. They tell you how nervous they were. "What if the plane crashed?" You ask them, "did you hear of any plane crashes?"
Last night, while we were in the air, there was a plane crash. Michael told us that he heard about it, and was nervous for a minute, until he learned that it was a small plane. There was heavy rain, and the pilot made several passes at the airport before giving up flying on east. They don't yet know what happened, but the guy's plane ended up tangled in some power lines, hanging three feet off the ground. There were seven thousand customers without power for two hours, while they got the guy out of his plane. Then they had to get his plane out of the wires.
The funny thing is that we saw this. Sort of. While we circled over The East Side, we saw a block that was dark, and had flashing red and blue lights all around it. I didn't figure out what was up with all that until I saw the story in the paper.
