luggage

We got our luggage back.

The woman at the desk asked us what they should do with the bags if we were not home when they dropped them off. We told her they could be left at the back door. I looked out a little while ago, and they were sitting at the back door. I wonder how long they've been there. I'm glad he left them far enouigh from the door that I could see them out the window. Otherwise I would have called around 3:00, asking where our bags were.

I'm glad everything worked out well. And glad it was such a great trip.

I was once teaching a class with a student who had flown in from another state. They lost her luggage and never did find it. She was in Milwaukee for three weeks and had to buy all new things.

Wow, that would suck. I hope she got compensation from the airline.

Yes she did, but it took awhile. It's a good thing that the government was paying her hotel room and per diem while she was there.

Yep, CDs, LPs and photos were all fine.

They had torn off a couple of zipper pulls, but that's on a pocket that I don't use. Other than that, everything was perfect.

And it turns out that we already had Selling England by the Pound. I should have known. Oh well.

travel can be hard on luggage, but in all my years of flights and such i've only ever had my luggage take a longer vacation than I. Glad yours found it's way home!

Nothing in there was irreplaceable, but we had a stack of CDs and LPs that we got from Dave. And an expensive photo. And I needed my flashcard reader this morning. And my credit card was in there. So, yeah, it would have been not good had they vanished.

Almost all the pictures I took last saturday were with my SLR, so I won't have pictures to post of our visit until later this week. :-(
