I was playing around with stitching photos...

It's big...

That middle part didn't work out. I think I missed a section or two. And the one near the left, I wasn't paying attention, and panned downwards, because it made a better picture, with the rocks in the foreground. Oh well. Those two sailboarders are the same guy.

Did you use some image stitching software? I've tried this sort of thing with PaintShop Pro and it's hard work.

Yeah, the camera came with stitching software. I wouldn't know how to do it with Photoshop.

Ooo! That turned out pretty well!

You can hardly see the first seam.

Cool image!

When stitching photos, the Photoshop clone tool and the occasional blur are good friends when joining sky and water.

Sounds like a good plan.

Excellent for a first attemt. I can't see the first stitch at all until I start judging where it should be from the size of the other pictures. Even then, I can't be sure I'm actually seeing it and not just imagining it.

Actually, I've done it two or three times before. This is the worst one, but also the most ambitious. And I obviously wasn't trying too hard when I took the pictures. I totally forgot that there's a stitch stetting on my camera for taking the pictures.

Now I can't even see where the first seam is. It's pretty wide, I think. Oh yeah, I used the little bulding to line it up, so it's around that. The second one would have been good too, but I had to place it manually, and the image was *tiny* on my screen.

SWEET!
My new camera does that now. I love it...but the ones I took in England got all messed up...=( It's hard to see where the next frame is to go.

We can play with the desert sunsets in Tucson.

Yeah! It's real interesting to line up shots in both directions - up and down and side to side.

That's really neat!

Thanks!

And congratulations, again.

Before you got the hip fixed? Why, in case you broke it?

How long do you think it will take you to get a reasonable range of motion back?

I'd love to see a render up close. Send it to my LJ address, if you don't know my personal one.

Oh, been meaning to ask you- you have broadband net access at home? I'm about to *finally* get some renders uploaded and printed up, and figured you'd groove on seeing these things when they're full sized, since there's all sorts of cool details in em.

In jpg format, they're running around 30-40 megs in size, don't know if you could load an image that sized or not, but figured you'd groove on the details of some of these.

I was doing gamma correction on the render box last night, and I was almost giddy with power, sitting there working on images that were hitting one and a half gigs in size, with all the layers in Photo Shop. Sweet.
