On Tuesday, I took the day off. I was supposed to get a lot of stuff done around the house. I didn't, really. I cleaned the bathroom a bit, bought a patio set and mowed the lawn.
On Wednesday, we took my niece and nephew to the zoo. That was fun. In the evening, I went to see the Violent Femmes at Summerfest. I didn't get to bed until well after 1:00. And my throat was a bit scratchy from singing along. I was just dead today, at work. The guys came over tonight. I wanted to skip it this week, but Greg was off second shift, so I felt we needed to get together with him. Besides that, he brought food. We played two games of Settlers of Cataan. Joe kicked our asses in the first. The second one lasted nearly two hours, and I won that one.
The Femmes show was really good. The crowd didn't even bother me all that much (the drunks were mostly fun). The sound mix was good. I've discovered that the sound can make or break a show. It doesn't matter how good the guys are playing, if you can't hear them. They played well too, though. Good fun, as always. Modern Day Zero opened up for them. A run-of-the-mill metal band. they seem like they're on the verge of stardom. They also seem like they won't make it over the edge. Steve and Michelle hung out with me. They found me just in time to still have a place to sit. Then some acqaintances of Steve's showed up. There wasn't room, but they stayed anyway. Then Joe and Alicia found us. There wasn't room for them so they left. One person really can't save enough room for four other people.
