We went to our final symphony performance of the year. I've been subscribing for almost fifteen years. The package includes six sunday evening shows per year, but this is the first time I've actually used them all. They mail your tickets in July or so, and the season is September through June. I usually forget at least one show during the year. Sometimes I'm not able to go to them all, and end up giving some away. This year, not only did we remember every show, but we used them all ourselves.
Tonight, the first set of pieces was by Mahler, with vocalist (bass) Eric Owens. The second was pianist Andreas Haefliger playing Bartok. Finishing up the night was Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. That one is always great to see and hear.
