Steve Miller

In early 1968, when Steve Miller went to London to record his first album, producer Glyn Johns took him to the studio where the Beatles were recording. John and Ringo didn't show up, so Steve ended up jamming with George and Paul. After a while, George left. Steve had a riff, so he and Paul worked up a song around it. Steve played guitar and Paul played drums, and then Paul played bass and Steve did another guitar track. Then they both did all the vocals. The song was "My Dark hour," and Paul recorded under a psuedonym.

I never knew that either. I do know the Steve Miller Band show I saw on New Years Eve in about '98 was an awesome show!

I knew that Steve played with Paul on the "Flaming Pie" album, but I never knew they went that far back. I am impressed.

A former housemate from college (UW-Madison) later lived in a house purported to have housed Steve Miller, Ben Sidran and Boz Scaggs during at least one of their college years.

Steve Miller's song with the words "Time Keeps on Slippin'..." always reminds me of a certain woman I was very attracted to but never met. Unfortunately, I don't own any Steve Miller albums in vinyl or CD.
