Let's take a look at the weather around the world, for the first week of January, shall we?

Two tornadoes hit southern Brazil. This is a rare event.

Clusters of icebergs have been spotted off the coast of New Zealand for the first time since 1948.

The United Arab Emirates got snow for the first time ever.

You've all seen what's going on in California. Rain, snow, mudslides, all that.

So what's going on? Is this a vengeful god? Is this a god showing signs that he's ready to bring the faithful home? Is this a bunch of humans who've fucked up their planet? On purpose?

'off the coast' = a couple of hundred kms south of some of NZ's (uninhabited) sub-antarctic islands, i.e. about a 1000km south of the south of mainland NZ (or over 2500km south of the north of mainland NZ...)

Okay, so they're way out there, but still, first time since 1948.

first time since then as far as they can tell -there's a 'gap in the records' apparently. they were recorded further north than the current ones in around 1890 and around 1930.

Every 40 or 50 years, then?

This story (http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff 0,2106,3148900a10,00.html) had the most details of the ones I saw - sounds like every 10-20 years from the 1890s to the 1940s, then none *recorded* until now.

Oops, that link's expired - This (http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3149898a7693,00.html) is the same story.

(And while looking for that I found this one (http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3151291a7693,00.html) which has some different details.)

duuuuuude we so had tornadoes today in santa paula and ojai and off the beach. we have never had tornadoes ever ever ever. "we" residing in ventura (in between santa barbara and la), california. right next to la conchita where the mudslide was, in fact.

we are a hip and happenin place in the meteorlogical world right now.

i'm sure you're just seething with envy.

Um... not for the mudslides.

Yeah. It's just the being from the midwest, tornadoes don't scare me much.

A guy I used to work with swears that these are the signs that the earth is about to "tip over" and reverse poles.. and we are all going to die unless we go to some ancient temple in the south american jungle.

I don't take him seriously, but he believes it.

So, where is this temple, exactly?

::grin::

Could I ride along with you? I get lost easily, even with directions, and I could get to Georgia but would never make it "left to monkey coloney, continue on past 92 trees, right at....."

heh.. he is keeping the exact location a secret from those of us who haven't read the book.. I do need to find out what book it is.. and see if I can find it.. just in case. ;) I think it was the main temple where the aztecs sacrificed millions.. and the coagulated blood at the bottom of the steps was over a dozen feet thick.

*gag*

And the thing is, I'm betting that all of this is just a prelude.  6-6-6 is getting closer all the time, doncha know.

or perhaps, things just happen?

Date: 2005-01-13 04:55 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] low-delta.livejournal.com
It's just a coincidence that all this weird shit is happening more and more? Perhaps.

that, and more folks around to take notice........

teenagers.
it's their fault ;)
do you think i cared
about the ozone layer
as i hairprayed my "wings"
in 1989? and i CARE, i do,
but we are thoughtless,
selfish animals.

seriously, this planet
has gone thru all sorts of things
we don't even know about,
and i will allow that some of it
would have occurred anyway,
but, yeah, we have fucked up the planet
and continue to do so.
and if there is a god who put us in charge,
he blames us too.

It's all my fault. I was born.
