I made the mistake of mentining to Cyn that I needed slippers. I'm not a slipper kind of person, but this house has lots of cold floors, and I often don't care to put shoes on, so I decided I should have house slippers. A week or so later, we were in a store and I said that I was going to look at slippers. I was told I was not allowed to buy them because Christmas was coming and she had already told people that I wanted them. *sigh* So I had to wait two months to get slippers. And then I got them and they were too small. So now I have to exchange them.

I don't know why my feet get so cold. I got a small rug to put under my desk, but it doesn't help enough. I'm okay if I'm on the carpet. Cyn used to sit in her basement in the winter with just socks on. I couldn't do that in the summer.

Anyway... now I've learned to keep two separate lists of what I want. Things I can wait for go on the public list.

Sounds like your two separate lists are more like what you really need vs. what you just want.

I think you're right. And I shouldn't leave those needs up to others.

Of course I'm right, I'm always right. :P

It would surprise me if you completely agreed!

My grampa was a macho man so he wore those cool, suede thangs with wool? lining...

I have always suffered from cold feet...(HAHAHA) so I know what ya mean. I prefer the kind that slip on and off fast but have a rubber sole so I can go out to get the mail if need be.

You forgot to mention that part about you being so incredibly hard to get gift ideas out of that people tend to jump when you mention something you want.

I don't care why. I just learned that I need to keep my mouth shut more often. Because they didn't jump into the action that I needed.

hee. i know.
plus, my feet are always always cold.
in the winter in new orleans i get out of bed,
pull something on and walk out onto the hardwood floor.
it is then that i realize that i need socks and shoes on to keep warm.

some links, but definitely not a complete list for radiant applications....a nice little six square foot area of warm tile beneath a desk would be much warmer than a rug......either Home Despot or Lowes has a DYI radiant system that's made to go under tile (and it's in the tile dept).....warm feet are happy feet.....

i find that i get cold feet and hands if i don't drink enough water.....

A friend of mine put that in his basement bathroom. Seemed pretty important in that use, but I don't think it's right for the hardwood floor in here. :-) If I'm doing anything to this floor, I'm putting carpet in.

actually, i was just thinking of a small zone below your desk......just enough for the normal foot zone........it could be portable......:)

i have hydronic floors in my house and garage.......the word fabulous doesn't even get close to how the floors feel

They sell foot warmers.

I think that would be better, for my needs.

Yeah, heated floors would be nice. I'll think about putting one of those systems you linked to, in my bathroom if I ever feel the need to remodel it.
