A fever might be the flu and need more careful watching. No fever sounds like a cold type virus and just needs the symptoms cared for. Just? Well, you know what I mean.
Another thought--maybe odd--just came to me. What if you put a heating pad on your head and forehead? That should help loosen the sinus mass.
