It took drilling through the case in order to attach a wire to the frame, but I got the turntable to lose its hum.

Cyn will be very happy - she's home all day tomorrow to clean the house. And I think she'll especially like the record that's cued up now.

the record that's cued up now

It's one that I don't think she's heard before, and is by one of her most favorite bands. ;-)

Since I'm at work, Cyn is playing her heart out. Check her journal to see what she's playing.

When I get home, first I'm going to listen to Emerson Lake & Palmer, War Child, Songs From the Wood and Autobahn. And then Sleepwalker, In the Court of the Crimson King, Full Moon Fever and Tales of Mystery and Imagination. Those are the records that I have that I miss the most. After that there are another three dozen that I really want to hear. Then Cyn has about three hundred records that I'll need to wade through. :-)

was the problem a frame ground?......

Date: 2004-11-24 07:46 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] low-delta.livejournal.com
Yeah, it needed to be grounded. The problem was that there was no place to screw a ground wire. There was only a jack. Since I did not have the proper connection, I took it apart and attached a wire directly to the frame. And I had to drill through the case.

yeah, my old BIC turntable has a green wire coming out with the phono jacks......it seems intuitive to ground all the equipment, but grounding options are definitely different for each manufacturer and every generation of gear...

I was just thinking Cyn and I need to take a trip to the used record store and load up. :-D

Hey, since you're wanting to get rid of your LPs and I'm wanting more, what do you say we work out a deal? I know someone who drives a moving truck!

I want in on the LPs too. That'll be payment for the use of the truck.
