I haven't checked my e-mail at home since tuesday night. I haven't been home long enough. That's probably the first time in a year that I didn't check it (if I was home) in a year.

Last night was gaming night. It was okay. It went slow (again). We were out at Drew's, so it's a 45 minute drive home. I was going to try to leave at 11:00 so I could be home by midnight. We had just started a combat when I noticed it was 11:15. :-(

So I didn't get home until 12:50.

The game was a little disappointing. Drew withdrew from the campaign. We run a high powered game, and Drew is not up on the rules as much as we are. He gets frustrated easily too. And lately, he has been very irritable. He hasn't had steady work for a while, and he has some big house payments to make.

And Joe is looking for work, and hoping to take a job up in Appleton next week. So he'll most likely be out of the campaign. That's an hour and a half commute. Six players is the high limit. Five is the best. We're dropping from six to four. Fortunately Phil's wife has been letting him out of the house on Wednesdays. They had a baby a month ago.

I need practice running these games. I'm doing better than I expected with the rules, but things just move too slowly. One of my strengths is organizing play, so everyone knows exactly what is going on. That's important in a game where all the action is in our heads. The problem is that it tends to bog play down. We only had two encounters in four and a half hours of play. Most of the rest was planning and set up, on the part of the characters. It shouldn't have taken that long.

So anyway, I'm very tired today. I feel kid of whiny about it though, given that Cyn was functioning on four hours of sleep yesterday and I got almost six.
