Since I haven't given you much of substance about me lately, I thought this was a good excuse.

Questions from and answers for Shrijani.

1. Do you like your name? Sure, I guess.
2. Whether or not you like the one you've got, what other name would you choose for yourself, given the opportunity/forced at gunpoint? Eric. It seems a natural name for me. That's one of the three names that people most often mis-call me.
3. If God sat down next to you at a lunch counter, what would you say to Her? "Hey, how's it going?"
4. Are you balking at the feminine pronoun in question 3? If so, why? No.
5. I thought so. Wasn't a tough guess, was it?
6. No, number five was not a question. What do you say to that? Why does everyone always seem to make such a big deal out of things like that?
7. Do you use conditioner? Everywhair? Nope. I tried conditioner once. It was not a good thing.
8. What is your favorite raw meat? Liver. It makes such a smack when it hits.
9. What do you want for your birthday this year? To relax.
10. If I were to sit down next to you at a lunch counter, what would you say to me? "Wow, I sure didn't expect to see *you* here."
11. Have you never been mellow? No.
12. Have you never tried? I've never had to *try*.
13. Will you marry me? If so, are you married already? It is hard to forsee the future, but I'd say probably not.
14. What is your relationship with monogamy? She's the only one for me.
15. What is your relationship with single malt scotch? Caught the last bus out of Margaritaville for her.
16. Were you "popular" in high school? There were all kinds of kids who liked to pick on me.
17. Who is your least favorite [read: most disliked] musical artist/band? Phil Collins
18. Try again. Are you talking about musically or personally? It could be Ted Nugent.
19. Try again. You're right - it's Michael Jackson.
20. Explain why you like Bruce Springsteen, because I just don't get it. First of all, I only like Springsteen pre-1980. Back then he wrote about life. He wrote things that people could identify with - stories about growing up. And he put so much feeling into it. And he had that big band - so much sound, it was like a symphony. And he had roy Bittan (I'm a sucker for piano).
21. Was your first kiss worth the bother? Oh yes. How about your twenty-sixth? That one was no bother.
22. Have you ever had a sexual encounter that makes you cringe with disgust to this very day? (This is a yes or no question - you don't have to elaborate unless you're drunk.) No.
23. Have you ever done the Macarena in public? Do you regret it deeply? No. But I wouldn't regret it if I had, since there would have been a good reason for it.
24. What word do you have difficulty spelling, even though you are obviously a genius? "Recommend": Two C's or one?
25. Does your family indulge in correct verb tense? No less than most.
26. Does it drive you out of your mind when people ask you stupid questions? No. I sometimes find it amusing.
27. What are you going to do about it? Try to laugh.
28. I am going to issue another 28 questions within the next 28 hours. Does this cause rage or delight? No.

They don't do it anymore, but when I was a kid people called me that all the time. Or asked me if that was my name.

I am sooooo with you on the Springsteen issue. I'll take The River and everything before it. After that it's all tight pants and supermodels.

Would you consider yourself a fan? Or jsut say that you generally like his earlier stuff. I'm a fan, though a selective one. I love all of Greetings From Asbury Park and Born to Run. I have Darkness on the Edge of Town and The River but I don't like them as much.

Oh, and I copied your answer for the macarena question (and added a phrase).

I don't really consider myself a fan. I'm more of an afficianado (sp?). I can see that he is, or was, a brilliant artist and that's about the extent of it. I own Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town, but I still need both on cd. Greetings... is important to any fan of modern music because it was so extensively covered and I'm kind of sentimental about The River as it came out at a point where I was young and susceptible and I've always come from a river town. It's a little mythological for me, so I keep it close to my heart. Still haven't had to buy it yet... But I probably will soon.

As for the Macarena question...well, craze dances are for the young and intoxicated and I've been both. Why not dance if everyeone else is? You look sillier sitting it out.

Let's go by the numbers...you're answers to 3-6 was great. You're obviously an intelligent man.
17-19 made me laugh
20...I love the old Springstein. Live from Asbury Park was a Christmas gift that I've got stored away safely.
You're an interesting guy that I have no idea about.
