Cyn was using some sort of furniture polish when she was dusting, today. I thought it smelled like shampoo, and not the good kind. She didn't agree, and said that it was supposed to be citrus scented.

I got some cardamom for the turkey, and she thought it smelled awful. I thought it smelled lemony.

Strange.

I don't exactly remember the source, but it's been shown that women have a stronger sense of smell than men. I don't understand how that would be of value in prehistoric times, but I've had it proved to me several times.

He's bothered by scents much more than I am. He doesn't like any perfumes on people (not even musk!), and he doesn't like scented candles. He doesn't mind incense as long as it's not the perfumey kind.

I wonder why we identify smells differently? The Citrus Scent of the Pledge wasn't pleasant to either of us, but I didn't think it smelled like shampoo. I love the smell of Lemon Pledge but he hates it. The cardamom smelled like old woolen socks to me, but lemony to him?

I remember when I was pregnant and how differently smells affected me then. I couldn't stand most of them.

I like scented candles with mild scents. Things like vanilla, lemongrass, a mild citrus. But I am sensitive to many smells.
The computer guy was wearing a fairly strong dose of aftershave or cologne or something. Not an unpleasant smell, but it kicked up my allergies and I started to get a headache so I had to air out the bedroom.

I don't mind those mild ones either, but I can't handle the perfumey manufactured-scent kind. Perfumes, soaps, fabric softeners, strongly scented candles, etc.

I once bought a candle for the bathroom that called scent "clean cotton". I didn't think it through. What I got was the kind of scent that some detergents have.
