but it could have been.

We spent our gift certificates and got our dinnerware. Ordered the new countertop for Cyn's kitchen. Did some work at her place (sanded and varnished windowsills, primed some more windows, pulled weeds in the lawn). Made grasshoppers. Watched some Dr. Who. Made some bread with the new breadmaker.

But the flat tire sure sucked.

At the last minute, we decided to go to Linens 'N Things first, instead of Home Depot. This meant a different route. But the freeway was closed (probably an accident), so we had to pick a new route, which went to Home Depot anyway. And at one point, Cyn thought we should go via 92nd street, but I suggested hwy 100. If we'd turned on 92nd, we wouldn't have hit that chunk of concrete. Or if we had decided to go to Home Depot in the first place. Or if the freeway hadn't been closed.

But the good side (*rolls eyes*) is that I learned what tires cost for this car. They're not cheap. An Eagle LS costs over double what Cyn's tire cost us on our trip in January.

Did I ever mention the new Mustang? It's a 2003. Cyn's son and I bought it. He's making the payments on it and driving it until the end of the summer. Then it's mine. But he's borrowing Cyn's wagon this weekend, so we've got the Mustang. I'm glad we didn't wreck it.

You two amaze me sometimes. I don't think I know anyone else who's so constantly doing something, and so willing to do it - put in such a lot of work and all. I'm impressed by it in an awed way. I wish I had half as much go.

Yesterday was pretty good. We actually got moving and out of the house before noon.

Sometimes I think the list of things we did sounds more impressive than it really is. <-:

Did you buy any of the "completer" items, for your set of dinnerware? Any platters, vegie bowls, salt and pepper shakers, or sugar and cream containers, that match?

Some. Why do you ask?

I think there was a gravy boat that we need.

And why do they call them "boats"?

I don't know why they are called gravy boats--now if you had asked me if the gravy boat was half empty or half full, I might have had an answer for you :)
Did you stick with your original choice of dinnerware--the Pfaltzgraff "Tandem" ?

Yes, Tandem. Another mysterious name.
