Why will my VCR pipe video to the TV through the coaxial cable, but not the the RCA cables?

I've had no luck finding your VCR manual.... ugh....

You have three RCA cables, right?

Yeah. But even one should do something, right? And I've checked carefully to make sure each one was in its proper spot - video out to video in, etc. And I'm sure the one to the DVD player is hooked up exactly like it was when it was working.

Does your TV discriminate against inputs? Do you need to "select" the Line In from the RCA jacks?

Ray said maybe the cables are no good, the connectors are bad or not set up properly.

Other than that, I got nothin'

Mine now does the super bizarre trick that the sound from the tv/digital cable box will only play through the stereo if the VCR is turned on. Not that I have to be watching something on the VCR, I just have to turn the power on.

So, it's probably some weird funny glitch that you'll find the answer to and have a strange little thing like that to remember when you use it.
