The remodeling was going well for a while, but early last week I started misjudging the time it would require. On wednesday, I though, thursday night and maybe aprt of friday before I go down to Cyn's. On thursday night, I decided it was too big a job and I'd skip firday night, but have Cyn help me out on sunday. I figured both of us couild finish it that day. No dice. I was working on it until 1:00 AM. Stil not done. I took part of the afternoon off and spent monday night until midnight and finally got it done.

The drywaller was to start on Tuesday. He was suposed to start sooner than that, but I was having trouble getting an inspector to look at it, let alone finish it. I kept pushing it back on him. I finally resolved to finish on tuesday.

So I only got five hours of sleep on sunday night, and six on monday night. Tuesday night, I was up to seven (that was gaming night). Wednesday, I was dead tired. I tackled only a couple of small (and mandatory) projects and went to bed before 11:00. I wish I could have fallen asleep right away. I didn't even have the enrgy to read.

Today, I awoke with a sore throat. Not just rough, but a little painful. And I was weak and a little dizzy. I went into work, but left after less than two hours. I slept for three hours, but not very deeply, considering the drywaller upstairs and the construction outside. I went to the doctor. They'll call me tomorrow if it is strep throat.

Meanwhile, Cyn's kitchen is still torn up. She's learning to cope, but I still feel bad. We would have it done by now if we weren't working on my place. It would be nearly done if I'd had my place done like I thought I would. We had planned on working on it most of this weekend, but I won't have the energy for it.

So here I am. Not happy.

Perhaps a weekend off is what you need. I'm sure Cyn wouldn't mind a weekend of nothingness as well. The two of you have been going non-stop for some time now, and when you burn both ends of the candle, it has repercussions.

Sleep.

I kept myself going by telling myself that it would all be over by May. Now it looks like it won't, so I'll have to take a break before it's all done.

it's time to reconfigure
and it's definitely time
for a bit of a break~
i know it's hard at this point
and you both have loads to do
and to work around and through,
but taking care of yourself physically
is also very important~
*love*

**pats on head** That's a lot of stuff to worry about man and a LOT of work. Sit. Relax. Take a load off. Breathe in and out even if only for a few minutes. By the way what do you play?

Shadowrun, bigtime.

I used to play D&D, but due to lack of time, I sit that out when the guys play that (or maybe they play that when I sit out).

I also like Chill and Paranoia, but nobody plays those anymore.

Very cool. I've played Shadowrun and I really like it, but we haven't played that in awhile. I was trying to get my groups to play some sort of horror game, but the guy who DMs most of the time really likes the White Wolf games so we play a lot of Mage. I play three times a week and two of those nights are rotating games. We play Champions (currently playing), Mage, Changeling, D & D, Tolkien based D & D, D20 Modern, Forgotten Realms, and I think that's it. I would love to play Chill sometime. I have looked at it, but never played.

Do they still publish Champions? I didn't know that was still around.

I tried Vampire once or twice. It seemed cool, but it was hard to get a feel for what really goes on. I have no idea what you do.

Chill is fun. It's a fairly casual deal. The rules are easy, and there's no weird game world to get acclimated to. On the rare occasions that we play, it's usually a lighthearted comedy thing.

You play three nights a week? Wow. It's a struggle for me to play once a week, and I'm pretty serious about my gaming.

Yeah, I'm a pretty hardcore gaming geek. The group I currently play with I've been playing with for about three or four years, in some incarnation or other. Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. There have been a few people that have come and gone, but the core group has remained intact.

Actually Champions just came out with a new book. I think it was last year, but it may have been the year before. The guy that runs the game had an old copy when we started and he is a super hero nut so he had the book memorized. Essentially, he was our book. Then the new one came out, I think they renamed it, but it is the same game. I love Champions. It is one of my favorite games. I love the characters you can create and where you can go with them and there is nothing like getting to roll fifteen dice **sound of thundering dice**. YEAH!!

When we play White Wolf mostly we play Mage. We've never done a Vampire game. I would like to run one sometime, but I would run it like a tabletop game. We play Mage at the table. There is a lot of dice rolling in Mage because of the magic and the way it works so we play it like D & D with none of that "live-action". I have to admit that I like it that way. As much as I love Vampires I don't really care for the game and there seems to be a certain type of gamer that it attracts to it that I frankly can't stand.

I'm a freak and it's okay, **whispers** I'm not dangerous **grin**. I think it's a great way to socialize without watching the television. I get so tired of the media and the way it comsumes our lives that gaming in some way is like a return to our roots of storytelling. I love it. I am lucky enough to have a job that affords me the time to play. See geek...hopeless geek. I also roleplay on-line. Well, that's really roleplaying through writing and art, but still roleplaying.

I've never played Chill or Paranoia. I would like to though. I love to try out new systems. I have a lot of old M.E.R.P.S. stuff and it's really weird. I wanted to run a Tolkien based game (before the new system came out) and the M.E.R.P.S. just didn't cut it so I converted it all over to D & D. It was a pain, but it works and it doesn't seem to be too unbalanced. Now I'm just rambling...

~sympathy~

It sounds like you are both overextended. A small break would be a good idea.
