Thanks for your suggestions for what to do with Cyn's kitchen. We still need help on rounding out the look.

There were a few suggestions for multiple colors - a couple mentioned gradiated shades and a couple mentioned different walls of different colors. I don't think I'm up for that because (1) it's not "normal" enough for selling a house, and (2) it's too much work.

I don't think all white will work very well because there's too little wood to balance it.

Yellow was mentioned a few times. And I'm starting to like green. Or we could go back to the light blue and white thing.

So if we were going with any of those colors (or any others), what other colors would we also use? What color walls, what color cabinets, what color countertop and what color curtains?

If you're going to paint over existing cabintry, I'd go with white. I'd spruce them up with new handles. Yellow walls, white cabintry, white woodwork, and white curtains. White tiles would look good behind the cabintry, and on the counters. You could also switch the yellow for blue, and use the same white accents.

The Anderson furniture would go perfectly with the fluted wineglasses!

i vote for a pale yellow with white trim. i've used it a couple of times. it gives a real "sunny" feel to a room.

I like that idea with the wood grain floor. What would you suggest for the counter top?

you might go with wood there, too, if you don't mind the maintenance, or a yellow tile, or a white tile with yellow grout.

The maintenance isn't an issue because I'm selling it. I need to put in whatever sells.

if you are selling it, just find a stock counter top that fits with whatever color scheme you use. you won't get any more for it by putting in something expensive.

Yellow to match the wall? Darker?

i would go with a lighter color. maybe one of those sort of flecked countertops with yellow flecks?

I really like pale yellow with white trim. Once you have those colors you could look at counter top and just see what goes well with those.

Well, we used Benjamin Moore color rich cream (looks slightly yellow) enamal in our kitchen and like it very much! Good luck.

Simple is Best! The buyers are going to want to personalize their own kitchen. At least, I'd guess they would. What little you can see of my kitchen walls are old brick color (red) but i wouldn't recommend it for resale.
