A coworker and I were down in Milwaukee to visit another plant. We went out in search of a place for lunch. Jeff remembered a place that had decent food even though it was a sports bar, but he didn't remember exactly where it was. We rounded a corner and saw a place called 4th Base. He decided that was it and parked. As we walked in he realized it wasn't the place he was looking for. It was a big dark sports bar and it wasn't immediately clear whether they even had food, but then I saw a few bar tables with stools along one wall. They had ketchup bottles so I decided they at least had burgers. We almost left, but then decided to stay and see what the place was like.
We asked the waitress if they had menus. She said no, but there were specials listed on the board, and there was a glass case around behind the bar and we could choose ala cart items from it.
Okay, so we went back to look. There were lobster tails, king crab legs, steaks of various sorts, salmon filets, brussels sprouts, all kinds of things. Things I never expected to see in a bar. One of the specials was orange roughy. Another was jambalaya, which both Jeff and I had, and was good. They also advertised a late-night Thai special.
The clientele was mixed (maybe ten of us) - local businessmen, factory workers and people you'd expect to see in a bar around noon.
