What assholes.

First of all, how does letting people get married threaten marriage?

Second, how does divorce threaten marriage? Sure, a particular marriage will end, but until divorce is outlawed, the institution will still exist just fine.

I think what mean when they say that gay marriage threatens the institution of marriage, is that marriage will become less meaningful and more frivolous. That's the only thing I can come up with, and it doesn't make any sense to me. I guess they think that when men can marry men, they'll start doing it just for the tax break or something.

Sometimes CNN just makes me tired. My disgust for them grew exponentially last year when they breathlessly, happily anticipated the Iraqi war so they could "imbed" their correspondents. Gag. It's about money. Always has been, always will.

hmm.. like there have never been green card/tax break/arranged marriages before.. right? ;)

It is a stupid issue. One of the few things our political forefathers did correctly in my opinion was to sepate church and state. This administration seems hell bent on breaking down as much of that separation as possible.
