I read the newspaper today.

Sounds like the state is not going to allow gay marriages. And they are going to allow concealed carry gun permits.

Feds loosen pollution controls retroactively.

They're cutting our libraries hours, and not updating the 911 system.

The only good news was that of a new baby giraffe at the zoo. Which doesn't really go very far.

I thought I heard this morning that the "man & woman only" marriage thing was going before the Governor today and he planned to veto it.

The newspaper said though Governor Doyle wasn't in favor of it, it didn't sound like he would veto it. but who knows.

I saw a quote that said the law already read that way so Doyle considered this new law silly--not his word, mine.

I think they could leave marriage as male and female, for now, but give a strong legal partners. Then when people realize the world won't end, we could move up to changing the definition of marriage.

What offends me is to call it "Defense of Marriage Act". As if allowing gay marriages would threaten anybody's marriage!
