Janet Reno ran for governor of Florida last year. She noted some strange election results. In South Florida precincts where she was strong, the Election Systems and Software voting machines were inexplicably recording no votes in the governor's race. In some poling places where there were over 1000 votes cast in other races, there were no votes cast for governor.
ES&S later sent "data extraction" technicians who "found" some votes. That same company is the one that certified the election results.
Of 1.3 million votes cast, Reno lost by 5000.
Election Systems and Software used to be headed by Chuck Hagel. He is now a senator (R-Neb.). ES&S is now headed by Michael McCarthy, who is Hagel's campaign treasurer. Hagel still holds $5 million in stock in the company, which counts the votes in Nebraska.
ES&S is one of several corporations in this country that supply voting machines and then certify the vote counts.
Chuck Hagel won his first election in a big upset. The voting was done on ES&S machines. He even won in majority black precincts which had never voted Republican.
