It is unseasonably cold and snowy. It is twenty and windy. It has snowed every day for a week. But there is still hardly any on the ground. This sucks.
That's what I used to sing on awful fall/winter days in St. Paul. Then I just moved to California.
The weather is what keeps me here. But I've become so acclimated it's embarassing. Lately it's been unseasonably chilly here, too, but each time I feel cold outside my mantra is: this isn't Minnesota cold! Indoors is another matter - homes and buildings are so poorly insulated here that I'm nearly always cold inside! When I first moved here I was shocked to see the single pane windows, tiny closet furnaces, and water heaters in exterior walls. At least I had double-pane windows installed, it helps a bit.
