red sun red moon

The sun was red as it went down. Not the usual pinkish color that we see when we say the setting sun is red. It was crimson.

The moon was pretty red when it came up, too. when I first saw it, it was barely visible through the haze, and deep red.

Still hazy.

Usually, red sky at night means there is wind stirring up the dust, and making the sunset red, and that wind will come in the next day. This time, the sky wasn't red, just the sun. I don't think anything is changing.

But yeah, I thought of that too.

You are right.. it IS red SKY in the morning.. etc. I don't know why.. or why I remembered it from childhood, but once when I saw a blood red moon when I was a kid, some adult told me that it ment someone I knew was going to die. Now every time I see one I get chills, for a minute anyway.

perhaps you're getting some of the high altitude smoke from forest fires?.......makes for redder sunrises and sunsets....

Maybe but it's so hazy out today, that the sky is grey. It doesn't seem like high altitude haze. It's very humid. Air quality rating of "yuck".

pretty nice here...weatherwise
