I'm interested in buying a DVD player. I'm curious about formats, though. I've heard rumors of DVD formatted audio. Super Audio or DVD-A. Anything else? Can you get discs in these formats? Do players play either kind? I don't really know the questions to ask.
I went to an audio store on saturday to ask, and maybe buy one, but the salesman didn't seem too interested in talking to me.

As I was making the bed this morning I was thinking that maybe I would go on Internet and at least learn "Just what is a DVD and what can a person do with it?" I'm not planning to buy a player--just don't want to be hopelessly "out of it".

I wonder how long it will take for video tapes to go from the "CDs are the norm but tapes are still available" stage to "You can't play a video tape unless you have an old VCR" stage.
