There's talk of an investigation into the lies our government told us to sell us the war against Iraq. Impeachment and all that. I don't think that will go anywhere. There are too many people in this country that think the war was necessary, regardless of what it took to sell it to the rest of the people. There are too many people that believe the end justifies the means - in other words, if you believe it is right, you need to do whatever is necessary to get it.

What I would like to see is an investigation into what happened on September 11th. Who knew what, and when? Like, why were there four airliners missing or off course, and heading for New York or thereabouts, and yet there were not fighter planes in the the air (per S.O.P). Or were there?

There are always fighter planes in the air. Two flights, from Boston to NY, are short enough not to allow for adequate response (the initial response was "something is a bit wrong" not "something is about to go apeshit"). The third (Pentagon) is what bothers me the most, but approach to Reagan/National is a reasonable thing, so it wasn't logical to expect the problem that finally arose. The fourth was taken down (with fighters in the area, but I think it was an internal thing).

You won't find a lot there except complacency. And, that's reason enough for something like this to happen. We are a country that never really thinks, when seeing a book bag on a bench in a mall, "Oh. Plastique. That's enough to take down the building. I'll call the bomb squad." No, we pick it up and take it to lost and found...

To our credit, and our loss.

Yeah, maybe. But I'd like to be a little more sure of that.

I read all about it in various news articles of the time. They hopped on that fast. Having a public inquest to show that the truth is still the truth is a waste of money, I think.

But, I'm weird that way. :)

I don't remember hearing much that was very specific about it.

and why 'he' kept reading to the children when he got the whisper in the ear about the towers...

I'm not so sure about that. I heard a plane hit the tower, and nobody knew what to make of it. After the second one hit, everyone started saying, "oh yeah, it had to be deliberate. What's the chance of a plane hitting a building like that?"

And it still didn't go from a plance crash to a national emergency until the towers collapsed.

But I have heard worse charges than that.

With a Republican Congress, impeachment would never happen.

Bill plays pattycake with an intern and it's "Impeach, Impeach, Impeach". George lies and gets American's killed for it and no one says piss diddle. What is up with that? As far as I'm concerned they can start any day now. I'm just curious why it took so long to wonder.

Before Bush, you'd ask why Bill got impeached for having an affair, and They'd tell you, "it wasn't about sex, it was because he lied about it." Okay folks, what've you got to say about it now?
