lj and e-mail

The reason I wasn't getting any e-mail notifications, was because, "Currently, Juno's e-mail servers are preventing all email from reaching their clients, this includes LiveJournal comment notifications. Please do not open a new request about it; your continued patience is appreciated until this issue is resolved."

Anyone waiting for a response from me?

Hah! So it isn't just me! I'm surprised that Juno is doing this. I've never had any problem with them in the past -- I mean, aside from the general wonkiness of their program. Their e-mail service has always been reliable. I guess I'll switch my address to one of my on-line in-boxes (inconvenient things) until they get their act together.

And I was so ready to blame LJ!

I get so much spam. Too bad they're blocking LJ mail. Maybe they're trying to crack down on spam, and haven't gotten it right.

I know some LJ users who get spam forwarded to them from their @livejournal address. (I think the forwarding feature can be disabled -- it's somewhere in the FAQs.) This has only begun to be a problem recently so it's possible that, since LJ doesn't have any way of preventing spammers from using the @livejournal address, (spammers have apparently found some way around the e-mail address scrambling feature) those users have filed abuse complaints with Juno, and Juno has gotten so many complaints that they've just started blocking everything from that address. I'm just speculating here, of course. But if it's the case, I suppose that we have to admire Juno for responding to those complaints, even if we end up screwed by their solution.
