I went out to rake leaves. I live on main street, and I'm sure all the passers-by were lookin at me, thinking "why the heck is that guy raking leaves in the snow?" There were snow flurries starting. Oh well. At least I got it done.
This was an odd Autumn. The cold kind of jumped out at us, at the last minute. It was rather warm, (off and on, at least) until a couple of weeks ago. I was waiting until the leaves were all gone, to do my final yard work. They're not all gone yet, and it is mid-November, and it hasn't been above freezing for almost a week. So now there are all these trees and bushes that haven't lost a leaf yet, but the leaves are finally shriveling up and dying because of the cold. I've seen dying roses on the bushes, all week. And raspberries frozen on the canes. Of course, most of the trees lost their leaves weeks ago.
Yesterday was a grey day. I went in to Shopko with my mom while it was snowing. When we came out a half hour later (I hate that store) the sun was shining. It has snowed at least a little bit every day for a week. You couldn't tell it by looking now. None of it has stayed around. Disappointing.
