the white stuff is flying

Whenever we have a stretch of rainy weather, I hear people complain about how grey and dreary it is. Yet after three long months of a grey and brown winter, when we finally get snow, and it is a bright, white, happy looking day, all I hear is complaining about snow.

And here I thought it was just wimpy native Californians, who have a comfort level of about 10 degrees. Under 70, it's too cold. Over 80, it's too hot!

It's not the temperature that bothers them, it's that they have to shovel snow and drive in it. Well, of course the cold bothers them, but mostly because it makes life difficult, you know how cold changes your lifestyle - winter coats, no sunbathing, no sitting on the back porch reading a magazine, no skateboarding, no... you get the picture.
