And why is it that the reservists are being called up for active duty, with a Middle Eastern tour, while the Army is being kept behind to protect the homeland? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Think about what they do. The Army is used to doing extedned manuevers. Seems like just the sort of group you should send overseas to wage war. The army reserve is used to being called out, setting up, performing operations, and breaking camp - all in a couple of days. Seems like jsut the sort of people you'd like to have on hand to respond on a moments notice to a threat here at home.

Just another thought to make you wonder what the hell is going on out there in Washington.

You sound like someone who doesn't have blind faith in our fine government!

Ya know... the midwest small towns (or even larger cities) are looking rather nice about now...

I'm not so sure about the cities.

hmmmmmm, reservists in this area are being called to duty because the regular army (or air force) folk have shipped out or are shipping out.......

I could have heard wrong about it.

Wait a minute... then who is staying behind?

reservists are manning (or womanning) the domestic bases while regular service people are being sent overseas........that's the case, here in Anchorage, for the most part
