Back in January, my friend Phil told me he had something for me. He didn't say what sort of thing, though. We were trying to get together outside of gaming night, but never quite made it. I guess he didn't want to give it to me in front of the rest of the group because he took me into another room. He is moving to Minneapolis soon, so he didn't want to wait any longer.

In the other room, he presented me with a box. I was quite surprised. I was even more surprised to find out it was a Jack Skellington statue/diorama. Jack is in the lab, doing experiments to learn what Christmas is. There's a big tank full of bubbling, glowing green liquid, and a wind up music box that plays the theme. It has his chalkboard with formulae.

It is awesome.

Phil says they missed it at Halloween, and then tried to get one at Christmas, but apparently it was seasonal for the one holiday, but not the other. Then they checked all over the country to find one, and finally found it (on sale!).

I had always intended to get Phil and his wife a nice housewarming gift (or two), but it took about eight months to sell their house. Very soon, I hope. (And I may have to enlist the help of a certain Maus to help with that).

It's not a diorama like yours, it's a 13" sculpture of Jack that is actually a box for a pin of Zero. Jack is standing leaning over the grave/doghouse and the base flips open to reveal the pin, which glows in the dark. It's a Markrita sculpture (whatever that means) and I love it dearly. Kim and I just got it from Guaneaux for Christmas! Yay!

I might need you for purchase and delivery. We'll have to see if it is much easier for you to handle that for me than it is for me to mail the stuff up.
