How did you get the gravestones to glow like that.. even in the shade?

Hmm. I think it has to do with the lighting. The sun is low in the sky, off to the left, so the whole scene is backlit. This means the whloe scene, except for the sky and the grass in the foreground is in shadow, so the light meter compensated and increased the exposure, brightening most of the scene. I guess.

It had been raining shortly before, and you can see the wet, dark edges of the tombstones, where the water ran over the sides.

The fact that a graveyard can have so much sunshine and color and life in it is what strikes me about this photo.
I like this contrast a lot.

It was a very cold day and had just rained. You can see the wet grass in the foreground, and the dark, wet sides of the tombstones. The sun had just come out within the half hour.
