What is it with fires? There was that club fire in Rhode Island. There was the subway fire in South Korea. A place next to my dad's gallery burned pretty bad. And the grandmother of a friend of a friend died when their house burned (and they lost all their posessions).

There's been so much death and distruction in the last two weeks. It should make me appreciate my own life by knowing it could end just like that. *snaps fingers* But actually it just makes me very very sad.

I'm not sure if I appreciate my life more, but it does give me a little more resolve to enjoy what I have and what I see.
