Do you have any radio stations in your city that play Bjork or other "alternative" artists? What sort of stations are they? Are they mainstream stations, or are they college, public or other "alternative" venues?
I was listening to our local callege station, and after the played a Bjork song, the DJ said, "and what other radio station in town plays Bjork?!" I had forgotten how much music is lost in our local radio landscape. And Bjork isn't exactly unknown.

in chicago too i find a couple, but they are a bit tamer (except for the college stations of course)~
i did live in texas for about a minute and a half in 1985 and i remember having
radio culture shock! i listened to my own music during that horrific time and banned
the radio!
i think the best "alternative" radio is npr~
but that's just me~
